RE: Llama 45 acp Mini Max Sub Compact
I actually own one. It's an okay pistol.
Negatives: Heavy for its size. Mine has had a stovepipe jam in the 200 or so rounds I've put through it. Llama has gone out of business, last I'd heard. The parts will not interchange with other 1911-style pistols.
Positives: Fairly compact. Looks cool. All-steel construction (the reason it's so heavy). Non-Llama magazines will fit, but Llama magazines will *not* fit in other 1911-style pistols. (This has led to much confusion; people think you need Llama magazines in a Llama. Not true.) Mine was cheap--about $240, as I recall.
I alsoown an older, full-size Llama, and it's a terrific handgun. Reliable as anything.
If I had it to do over again, I don't think I would've bought a Mini-Max. For a few bucks more, I could've had a usedS&W compact 9mm (469/6904), a much better pistol. Even the Bersa compact MiniFirestorm would've been a better idea, for about the same price, I think.
