Default Remington 12C Assembly?

I recently inherited a model 12C and of course felt the need to take it apart. I'm having trouble getting it back together. When I took the main screw out that holds it all together this piece (outlined in red on the attached picture) just slid out on it's own (no forcing or anything). It fitsinside the receiver and is worked by the pump to load new shells and discharge spent cartridges. There isn't enough head space in the receiver to fit this part in infront of the actionso that it will work [&:]. I've tried about everything abvious including taking the pump and slide out and starting from scratch and putting things back in different orders. So if you know the procedure to get this thing put back together please share. Thanks

Default RE: Remington 12C Assembly?

I'm sorry, I don't remember the exact sequence. I do know it took me quite a while to get it back together though. You might want to get a book on assembly/disassembly. I think that is what I ended up doing. Good luck
