Default Thumbhole stock

I'm really intrested in thumbhole stocks after shooting a few shotguns with them.

My question is who makes one for my H&R Ultra Slug Hunter in 12 gauge? I know the answer is ............... no one.

So who could maybe make one? And what would it cost?

I would contact Boyd's. They should be able to make one for you. And if you can finish it (sanding and proper laquer ect) It will be cheaper. Good luck

www.boydboys.com

That is the correct web address, but it doesn't seem to be working for me right now.

i don't know if i have ever seen a thumbhole stock for a shotgun. i have seen stocks with a drop pistol grip and i have seen them with aguarded pistol grip. but no thumbhole stocks. i would think that would make cocking the hammer on an h&r a real pain in the butt.

Here is one from Boyds.

And this is what they have to say.

CUSTOM DUPLICATING

Can"™t find your model of gun in our listing? No worries! BOYDS"™ is now offering custom duplicating to aid you. If you have a workable stock/forend we can quote you a price. All parts will be semi-inlet requiring fitting and finish. But it sure beats inletting your own from scratch! So give our sales staff a call for pricing and any other information you might need, we will be happy to help you anyway we can.

The price of the stock will be as much or more than you paid for the entire shotgun

Gotta say I was wrong there. I see Cabelas has thumbhole stocks in their shooting catalog for Rem 870's for $80

technically they arent really thumbhole stocks, you would bust your thumb if they were thumb hole stocks on a 12 guage

I disagree ive shot a 300 rum with a thumb hole stock no brake and my thumb didnt break and I think the recoil is a little tougher then the 12 gauge

How are they "technically" not a thumbhole stock? Looks to be a whole in the stock, which you place your thumb through. And how exactly would a 12ga bust your thumb?
