Default Stevens 200 trigger

Can the stevens 200 trigger be adjusted, and is it easy?

I have read that the tigger can be lightened by tinkering with the trigger spring. I'm not going to touch mine.My stevens is a shooter. I really like this rifles accuracy.

Yes it can be adjusted. The 200 trigger is simply the old Savage trigger system with out the accutrigger. There is a screw to adjust the trigger weight spring. You can lighten the pull with this screw. The trigger spring is the small 'L' shaped bar on the side.

I wouldn't reccomend that you do anything else unless you know what you are doing as the safety and trigger system are all interconnected and all must be set properly to assure safe operation of the firearm.

If you want to lighten the trigger, the best bet is to install an aftermarket kit. Look at the ones from Rifle Basix, or Savage Shooters Supply. I have used the one from ZRifle Basix on two different rifles, and they are easy to install yourself, and are adjustable.
