Federal Trophy Bonded Bear Claw! 160 or 175 grain bullet. Works great!

We have generally smaller bodied deer in the Hill Country of Texas, but I've had great luck with Winchester Supreme 140 grain ballistic tips. MANY deer shot, none went more than 50 yards. Most fall in their tracks. Shot a pronghorn in Wyoming @ 277 yards with same round. Never took another step. Good choice for deer sized game.

I use 160 gr Combined technology Partition Gold but think that Norma Oryx would splat more.

I use the 140gr ballistic tip.Not one deer has covered 50 yards after I have shot it with a ballistic tip. Most deer drop on the spot or within a few steps.

I used 139gr Hornaday SSTs for many years with great luck. I don't think I had a deer ever take a step while using these loads. I switched to Nosler 140gr Accu Bonds this year to give 'em a try, also never had a deer take a step with these.
