Encore custom barrel or new Savage mod 14 Classic ??

I am debating on getting a BullBerry custom barrel for my Thompson Encore Muzzle Loader in a .270 cal. or buying a new Savage model 14 Classic in .270WSM. The price for both is about the same, as I would need a new forearm and buttstock for the Encore to mate with the barrel also.

Would you choose the custom barrel setup or a complete gun ????

I had a barrel made for my Encore a few year's ago, a .240 Weatherby. That was awaist of my money,for what I payed I could of picked up 2 different calibers from T/C for my Encore...
Just something to think about!

Too bad T/C doesn't expand their selection of Encore barrels a little. I have thought the .270 WSM would be a good one as well. But, things as they are, I think I would also go with the complete rifle for the same money.

Thanks for all the replies !! I think I will opt for the Savage and add another complete gun to my collection. Just seems like I would be getting a lot more for my money.
