Default i need some help.

my girlfriends father gave me today a brand new never used glenfield scope. its box is old and dry leading me to think its been around a while. its 4x15 opti-centered coated. first question is id like to know how old it may be? or if glenfield is even still around.

second question the rings it came with are 3/8" dovetail. ive searched google, cabela's and a few other gun supply websites, and ive have not found anything that will work. i need a base for it.

any thoughts?

It is the old optic's division of glenfield-marlin which is now Marlin. I believe that that scope shou8ld use a weaver style base.

Miller, it would help if you told us what you gun you wanted to install this scope on top of.

You said you have a project planned for this scope. I am confused.[&:]

With out knowing what gun you want it to go on it is going to be hard to find a 3/8" base for any thing in particular. You have to have a gun in mind before we can help with base options.

Seriously, it depends on what gun you are going to put the scope on.

Most .22 rimfires have 3/8" dovetails cut into the receiver. Outside of that... ???????

i was going to mount it on a daisy red ryder bb gun for just the hell of it. yes i know its not the smartest thing. i know the scope is not made for air guns. my idea was to put it on for a challange.

i just don't have something to put it on. my .410 single shot is not drilled and tapped. and i don't have a nice .22 rimfire yet to put it on.

Don't install it on any bb gun. The bb gun will break the scope believe it or not. Save it for a .22 in the future.
