Default Questions about Remingtons

I just purchased a 742 BDL online and I'm a little confused because I thought that every BDL came with a monte carlo stock...
I didn't get to see a picture of the gun and purchased it on description. Just trying to see if some people can help to clear up my ignorance.

I bought my 742 back in 1982. It does not have a Monte Carlo stock.
