Default something reliable

I'm going on my second shotgun because my remington 870 got lost during hurricane katrina. What shot gun would ya'll recommend for under $300. Just wanted to try something new but i did like the 870 alot.

For a shotgunner on a budget, I'd stick with the 870.

There is nothing better in their price range.

I really like my Benelli Nova. I purchased that for right at $300. I am sure someone will counter my suggestion but that is what makes the world go around!

The 870, Nova and Mossberg 500 are the three I would consider in that price range. The Mossberg 500 and possibly the 870 field grade could probably be had with a combo of smooth bore and a rifled deer barrel for around 300 dollars.

I had a mossberg and it was a fine weapon for the money, the 870's are slightly better, but slightly more expensive.

I like the Winchester 1300 with the safety in front of the trigger guard....Darn decent plain ole shotguns....Regards, Rick.
