Default Camo painting a gun

Have you done it? I'm thinking about a base coat of Krylon Fusion on the synthetic stock. Not sure about painting the barrel/scope/mounts. If I do, should they be painted seperately, then reassembled/sighted in, or left as is and painted as a unit?

I've painted a scope (flat black) before, and I'm not worried about harming it.

A lot of the time I will use the camo bow tape.Yhe soft cloth kind. It looks good and you can take it off and change patterns.Cleans up pretty easy with finger nail polish remover..Just a thought.

I like either that spatter paint like you buy to paint car truncks or some stuff called stone fleck from wal-mart, its used to paint cement lawn ornaments, this is for stocks, either way use a light coat of clear sealer afterwards, it'll stay on 10X better.
For the steel just use whatever in camo colors but use clear on it too, if its not baked on enamel it'll chip easily if you don't.

I think I'm just going to do the stock and forend. Just a little too nervous to paint the action and the barrel (of my NEF). I'm going to try the fusion paint as a base coat, then regular paint for the pattern. I have heard that the paint will wear off in time. Is there such a thing as non-gloss clear caot to slow down the wear?
