Question about sears gun

Hey guys, I have a buddy who has a sears model 53 270. I was thinking about buying this gun, but have never heard much about it. It has a varix II scope. He told me to make him a price. Can anyone tell me about this kind of gun and how muchit may be worth. The gun is in very good condition. Well taken care of. Suggestions, much appreciated!

According to the Blue Book of Gun Values this rifle should be A Winchester Model 70 as far as pricing I am not very knowledgeable with the Winchester rifles but the scope should be worth around 150.00--200.00 depending upon condition I hope this helps chad

The Sears model 53 is a Winchester model 70. I am not sure of the exact dates Winchester made this gun for sears but I do know that it probably won't have much collector value being that it is made for Sears. For hunting and shooting purposes it should be a fine rifle to have.
