Default real world advantages 300wm vs 7 rmag

When comparing the ballistics, it seems once you get out past 100 yds or so the advantage the 300 win mag has over the rem 7 mag drops off quite a bit, so is the extra recoil of the 300 wm worth it? Any real world difference?

I just traded a .35 whelen for a ruger 300 mag. It is a pleasure to shoot and the recoil is nothign compared the that 35. I was actually surprised.

for reloaders they like the advantage of being able to go up to a 220 gr bullet. The heaviest I have seen is 175 for the 7mm. I personally dont think there is much of a difference except the bullet weight thing.

I like the choice of bullets for my 300win and as for recoil i dont feel there is going to be much more then the 7mm. Best luck for factory ammo in 300 win was 165 failsafe

I saw 250 grain .30 caliber bullets in Cabelas shooting catalog and 180 7mm Match Kings.

The match kings are not recommended by Sierra for any hunting purposes. The 30 caliber sure has the advantage offering bullets in much heavier weights. If you are talking about deer hunting, the difference would not be there. For bigger game then the 30 caliber takes over.
