Default Sig Sauer Rifles

Just wondering? I see adds in the magazines for Savage, Weatherby, etc, etc, but don't see much about SigArms rifles. Maybe someone else has, but I have seen the handgun ads all over, but not Rifles. Just wondering if
1) has anybody else seen any and 2) is it such or seem exspensive that no one owns a lot of them, except maybe in Europe. Like I said just curious!

Now that you mention it, I too wonder why they don't advertise more. perhaps their US sales are at the level they want??

Regardless, these are superb rifles. Anything that says SAUER on it is great! I have an old (1912) Sauer double rifle in 8X60RS caliber, and it still shoots great!

Sounds like a nice gun, I have the 202 in a .300 Win Mag, and just bought a used .30-06 barrel for it. It is the sweetest rifle I had and the most accurate. But it just made me wonder why they didn't have ads in the magazines!

I don't know much about Sig manufactured rifles, but Sig is an importer for Blaser which are super nice. I agree that I have never seen a commercial advertisement for Sig rifles or Blaser.

J.P Sauer and Sohn is a german rifle maker but they also made single action colt copies. The Sig pistols are developed and made in Swizerland. The sig p210 is undaoubtedly the finest target 9mm in the world. But trade barriers and large import duties to other countries caused sig to have thier pistol designs to be manufactured in Germany by JP sauer and sohn, then exported to other counrtries (Like USA) and the import dities of those countries would make the pistols more competetive
The Sauer rifle have been seen in the USA by other names. The German wetherby's were made by Sauer. Colt imported them for a while as the Colt/Sauer/.
I have fired 2 sauers, A model 202 in '06 and a Colt sauer in .300 win mag. They are the finest rifles I have ever fired. In '99 I was going to buy a Sauer 202 in '06,new for $1000.00. I was not able to do this and now they are pretty expensive. But Oh so fine!
But American shooters a REALLY CONSERVATIVE!!! The mauser company in Europe continually upgrades, improves, and advances it's designes. And these newer designs are popular in Europe and Africa (Like Sauer and Sohn). But we Americans insist that the best mauser ever made was made 106 years ago!!! The Sauer 202 is an advanced design with a 2 piece stock, and no aftermarket doo hickys sold here. European Rifles seem to be a tough sell here but consider the competition from Winchester, Rem, Savage, Kimber, Dakota, Browning, Ruger, Ed Brown, well you get the idea.
Incicdently, I bought a couple of CZ (made in Czechoslavakia and now Czech Republic)rifles about 7 0r 8 yeaqrs ago. Back then no one kknew anything about them. After I bought one and showed up atthe range, it wasn't long before four of my shooting buddies bought themselves CZ's. Now CZ is Probably at least as prominebtly sold as Savage(not from anything I did but because CZ has been able to meet the peculiar needs and stodgy tastes of the American shooter.) So it could happen with Sauer
If you get the chance to buy one or shoot one, do yourself a favour and do it.
Oh do I ever ramble...........

Have to agree finest shooting rifles. I am glad i got one when I did. I decided to make it the only gun with several barrels. When I got the original .300 Win MAg barrels were low, now I had to pay 475.00 for a used .30-06 well worth it. Now I do have to invest in a new bolt from the company in CT, 410.00, ouch but worth the investment, it can only gain in value
