To my knowledge the 11-87 is from a newer design in 1987. As of now the 1100 only comes with a 2 3/4 chamber where as the 11-87 comes in 3 and 3 1/2 in super magnum models. It looks like the 1100 is nor being targeted more towards trap shooters.
