Default Need a gunsmith

Would like to send my Remington BDL to a good smith for some work (barrel fluting, epoxy bedding). Don't have any one reliable in my part of VT to do this. Can you recommend someone nearby. Thanks

Default RE: Need a gunsmith

Is there a reason you want someone nearby? If you're going to be sending the gun via UPS you can send it anywhere you want. I send my Remingtons to Hollands Gunsmithing in Powers, OR. www.hollandguns.com. I have had 3 Rem 700's re-barrelled by him and have never been anything less than absolutely satisfied. I have not had any bedding work done by him but I have seen presentations by him and would conclude he will do a "5-star" pillar bedding system for you. Otherwise, Hart (Hart rifle barrels) does custom rifle work and they are in your area of the country somewhere and they can do some really neat interupted fluting (and spiral flutes too I think). Their reputation is "5-stars" as well.
