Default TC Encore or NEF ???

I'm wanting to purchase a 7mm08 single shot. I like the TC but i could buy 2 NEF for the price of 1 Encore. Is the thompson that much better, I want to know if the accuracy is ALOT better with the TCE or am i just paying for the name? All replies welcome.
Thanks

It depends on how big a factor that cost is for you. If you take cost out of the equation, clearly the Encore is superior. You get:

Great quality.
Interchangeable barrels out of the box, available from a variety of vendors.
A great shooter.
Lots of caliber options.
Great looking gun.

If cost is a factor you make sacrifices with NEF:

Hit and miss quality.
Interchangable barrels that must be purchased and fitted at the factory, or purchased (on ebay, etc) and must be fitted by a gun smith.
A great shooter, if you put some time and tweaking into it.
Many caliber options, but no "magnum" calibers.
Pretty plain in the looks department.

I have an NEF .223 and love it. I would like to buy 12 guage slug and turkey barrels for it, and maybe a good rifle barrel for it too, say.30-06, .308, or .270. The S&W .500 barrel also seems like fun!

I do think the TC's are better, but not twice better.

The 'looks' of a hunting rifle never meant much to me, most of my rifles get abused anyway.

I'm not exactly sold on the idea of interchangable barrels. not saying they don't work, I just prefer to have a whole new rifle.

I own NEF's in .223 and 22hornet, and couldn't ask for anything more from them.

Cost wise where I live you could buy two NEF rifles and a very good scope for the price of a T/C. The T/C is a little better quality but for the price, the NEF is the better value. IMO.
