Hello all. Not sure where else to put this. I'm looking for some help, or maybe some suggestions on what is wrong with my scope.
Last Sunday I went out to shoot my Muzzleloader-CVA Optima to make sure is was still on. Our gun season starts this coming Monday. I have a Simmons scope, 3-9x40 adjustable scope on it. Well when I pulled it out of the case I tried to turn the scope down to 5 power since it was on 9. Well low and behold the damn thing would not turn hardly at all. Finally I got it to start moving a little with a grinding noise going on. I can now freely move the adjuster from 3-6, hard to get it to 7, 8 and 9 I cannot use. The grinding noise also went away.
Next I took the little screw off the holds the adjuster on, slide the adjuster forward and check to see if something was in the way of the adjuster when it was turning. I found nothing wrong. I did notice that the little screw was stripped at half way and down. Not sure if it is suppose to be like that or not. I tried leaving the screwloose once I put it back in it's original holeand turning the adjuster, just made things worse. Tried tighten down real good, but it made no difference. I did shoot the gun one time at 60-70 yards and hit bullzeye, so the scope is on. Does anyone have an idea of maybe what the problem is? Any suggestions would be highly appreciated! Thanks ahead of time.
Never had that happen. I quess I would use it for now then send it in to Simmons. I think they will fix it for you free or for a very small charge. I have only had the straight power Pro-Hunters and Aetecs in the Simmons brand. They have performed very well for me.
