Default Question on Signature Pos Align Inserts

First of all, I took my gun to BassPro, where the guy couldn't bore sight it because it was too low. So he tried putting different sized rings on front versus back, and too high. I told him I'm getting the signature rings from Burris, and he said that should be the way to go.

So I get home and thesignature rings are waiting for me.The lady who sold them to mesaid they come with inserts. Well, they come with "zero" inserts for front and back, so you don't get any adjustment out of them. I have to buy the "offset" inserts, which come in different sizes based on the amount of adjustment needed. So I guess my question is, if I am about 10 inches low at 20 yards, what does that mean for 100 yards? The inserts are based on adjustment at 100 yards and I need to know which size of inserts to buy.

Thanks!

Since you now have different rings,I would try mounting them as is and shooting the gun to see if you can zero the scope.

Well if nothing else you will have a reference point so you will know just how far the scope needs to be moved with these rings.

those rings come with inserts if you did not get them call and have them send you them I had 4 diff. sizes with my rings to adjust the scope anyway you want to go. good luck but dont buy the inserts they own them to you.

The sig rings do not come with the off-sets, I have bought two pairs and they never came with off-sets. I think the 30mm ones might come with off-sets though.

camp 13 is right. I got inserts, but not the OFFSET inserts. The ones they came with are zero effectinserts.

There was a guy in front of me at BassPro that had the exact same problem I did. He had the SAME receiver mount plate that I have, and some scopes would work on it and some wouldn't. But his Mossberg was newer than mine and tapped for a different mount on top so he didn't need the one that bolts to the sides. So he took off the mount plate and went with the other mount and is now doing fine. The mount plate I have (and that guy HAD) is see through so you can use open sights if you want. I think this elevation contributes to not being able to sight mine in without inserts.

I was not aware of that, but the simple fact is that any type of see through mounts place the scope too high above the boreto obtain a proper zero withsome scopes as well as being too high to achieve the proper cheek position on the stock. They also prevent proper bore sighting.
