Default Clean up old guns?

My Grandpa just gave me two of his old guns, a 12-gauge and a 30-30. They were sitting in his garage for probably 10 years unused. How should I clean these guys up before I use them? Should I take them in to get them inspected to make sure they are safe to shoot?

Default RE: Clean up old guns?

If they have been in a garage for so long, then definitely get a competent gunsmith to go over them both before even thinking about putting a live round thru them!!!!
