I aquired a High Standard SUPERMATIC Deluxe 20 ga today. it is mark 20ga 2 3/4-3 I cant figure out how to tell if it is mod or full choke can any one tell me how to tell? it is in 98-100% except for the recoil pad is flatened due to being set on it for 30yr does anyone know where I can get a matching replacement for it. Simple! Just put up a patterning board, and see what percentage of the shot hits inside a 30" circle at 40 yards!!

"For years manufacturers have determined shotgun barrel choke measurements - full, modified and improved cylinder and variations of those - by what percentage of the shot charge printed in a 30-inch circle at 40 yards. But in actuality the degree of choke in a barrel is simply a measure of constriction from the bore to the muzzle. Since virtually all interior barrel dimensions are different, often ranging up to 20 thousandths of an inch gun-to-gun, there is a better way of determining your choke.
