I found a 700 ADL in 6mm Rem for $399. It's used, but in great condition with a warranty from the gun shop. I researched this gun on the web and couldn't find anything. The stock has been cut down to just under 12" LOP and I thought it would be perfect for my 11 year old. Anyone know if ammo is readily available, how good of a cartridge is this for deer and hog, and if this sounds like a good price? Hurry, I got mustbuygun fever!!

I have the 6mm rem it would be a great gun for him to hunt with but I will agree with Vapor the price is a little high If you can wait a little while Wal-mart will order one for you cheaper than that and it will be new. I would offer $325 or $350 for it. There is some ammo but not many choices but fot deer and hog the rounds are there

If I"m not mistaken the only 6 mm that Remington offers is the 700VLS model and that has a 26" heavy barrel and that is if you're talking about a Remington rifle.
(Pop Up) 700 ADL SYHTHETIC 7mm08
GA# 976624255 $369.00
Remington 700 ADL synthetic in 7mm08 Rem caliber, this is a very limited production run of this caliber, the barrel is 22" and the finish is matte and it has Redfield mounts on gun. This gun was before the bolt lock system, it would make a great deer rifle for a woman or a small frame man or boy as this caliber has very little recoil, also a good Seller: ISLAND FIREARMS INC.

Yeah, these guys are right. I bought my adl in 30-06 for 319 brand new. There were 243's as well for the same price. 243 is close enought to 6mm in my book. You might consider it. Sportmens wharehouse isrunning this deal. EJ
I used a 6MM Rem for quite a few years for deer. I loaded the 100 grain Hornady RN bullets and it worked well. I would also suggest moving up a notch or two to the 260 or 7MM-08, More effective and not much more recoil.
