Default Anyone Else own one of These?

My newest toy that I bought this summer is a 444 Marlin. I know they aren't an extrememly well-known caliber, but I was just wondering if anyone else has one and what they think of it. I've only shot mine 3 times at a target. She's dead nuts at 50yds and close at a 100yds right out of the box. I bought it for my bear hunt this fall and for short range deer and drives.

I got one that my grandfather gave me before he passed away. I absolutely love that gun and cartridge.

For some really potent rounds look at Bufalo Bore and Corbon. These two companies load them up right.

Hornady also loads for this great cartridge again with a 165 grain soft point flat nose. A very good all around bullet for the .444.

The 265 Hornady is a very good bullet - so is the 270 Speer Gold Dot. Haven't tried them, but I would suspect Barnes makes aseveral X bullets that would be good for the .444 if you handload. Good luck. Roskoe

Yah, I'm shooting the Hornady 265 gr Flatpt. My shoulder tells me that whatevers on the receiving end isn't gonna be happy. Can't wait to see what it does to a deer at 50 yds.

I have a 94 Winchester in .444. Graert cast bullet huntingcartridge. Any 290-310 grain FN leaves the 265 Hornady bullet in the dust!

I had a Marlin 444 years ago. I never fired it and finally sold it.Mine was some special model. It had a Gold Medallion embedded in the stock. Some anniversary model or something another. It was a nice rifle just didn't have a need for it.

I had one back in the 70's, i hated the way the stock fit me and traded it for a pretty good drill press that i still have.

Long ago ialso had one made up on a Valmet 412 combi bbl set that i still have... It's a 12 guage on the top bbl, and 444 Marlin on the bottom bbl... It shoots pretty good even with factory ammo...

That sounds like an awesome combo! I'd like to see that. Got any pics?
