Default ruger m77 mk II with nikon buckmaster 500.00 good or bad?

it is all stainless steal and it is about 4 or 5 years old is that a good gun and a good price

In my opinion that is a little high. In my area they run $400-$450 with comparable scopes. I you like it, offer less and see what the owner says.
