Default Mossberg 935 vs. Remington 1187 vs. Browning Gold

Always wanted in a Browning Gold 3.5" in Mossy Oak Shadow Grass, but recently I've seen the Mossberg 935 and it's caught my eye. The Gold goes for $1,000 and the 935 for literally 1/2 of that, $500. The 1187 for $700. How is the quality of the 935 compared to the 1187 and the Gold? This would be used primarily for waterfowl/turkey (3 & 3.5" shells). I heard the 935 doesn't like 2 3/4" shells...

I have a 3'' 11-87 and its a great shot gun. Shoots well, patterns well and swings well.

I also have had my eye on the 935. I had a 835, but sold it. I shouldered a 935 and it fit me pretty well. When they first came out, I read a few bad things about them, but they should have the "kinks" fixed now. If they pattern like the 835, they should be great guns.

As for the Gold. Its also a great gun. I don't have one, but I know a lot of people who do.

My next shot gun will more than likely be a 935. The main reason is the price. And that I am a lefty. Just like the 835 the safety is on top. So its a good gun for both right and left handed shooters.

Oh yeah, I would say that if you have always wanted a Gold and can afford it. Go for it. Because if thats what you really want, no matter what other gun you buy, you will still have that want and wonder what its like to own one and if the one you bought is as good as the Gold would have been.

I have two gold, and 1187s, and my brother has the mossbergs. The gold in my opinion has features that I love. I love the gas system on the gold. I love the quick feed feature, especially for duck/geese hunters. I love the finish and wood on the gold. But, my 1187 has yet to fail. I carry extra rubber o rings with me. I hate the rattle and cluckyness of the action. But it works.

I simply won't pay 1K for a gold. Thats rediculous. I got a gold 3" deer slugger two years ago for around $680. Thats with 100 dollar send in rebate. Then this year, they shot up in price. What the ???. I would pay 550 for a 1187 anyday over that.
