Default Savage, non accutrigger, trigger adjustment?

I noticed on my Savage Strikers schematic it shows a trigger adjustment screw and a trigger adjustment spring. I"™m not too sure where the spring comes into play and can only imagine it is replaceable with a different weight spring.

In order to shed a pound or two off the trigger pull do I only need to adjust the screw?

Dave,

I can not comment on the stryker as I am not certain that the trigger is the same as the other Savage models.
If in fact the trigger is the same as the 110 models, then yes, a small amount of weight of pull adjustment can be made with the spring tension adjustment screw.

My recomendation would be to simply to replace the trigger with an aftermarket trigger such as the Timney. They cost about 60$ for the 110 styled triggers. You can easily install and adjust one yourself. I have done this on my Savage 210 and I am extremely happy with its performance.

Thank you for the link, I found it very helpful.

New trigger? maybe next year. The stocker didn't feel half bad to me, just a little too stiff on the #age, that's all.

Thanks again
