Default Remington EtronX

I was wondering if anyone here has one of these or knows much about them. I am looking for something in a Remington varmint rifle with the Kevlar stock, and hopefully a stainless fluted barrel. I talked to a guy who can get these EtronX rifles cheaper than any of the other varmint rifles Remington offers, I guess because they never were a hit with people. Are they a good rifle? I know I can still reload for it just have to get the electronic primers, but is it worth it? What are the bad qualities of this rifle? Is it worth it to get this rifle because it is so much cheaper than the rest, I can get one for about 550. Please helpo me out on this. Thanks

I dont know if they are a good gun or not but I would not buy one even used. This technology is going to progress rapidly and we will find ourselves with chips in the gun which will shut of the electronic pulse to fire the gunwhen big brother feels it is appropriate. If you think I am a paranoid then fine, but I can just see Chuck Shumer and that crew pushing this as a way for gun manufactures to avoid lawsuits when criminals use their products to commit crimes. Once they have this technology established then law enforcement will be provided a means of disabling the weapon "for public safety". Then we will see news coverage of "unneccesary shootings" because we have failed to collect all the conventional guns and get them off the streets. AND SO ON.....

The Etronx may just be that "next step" in technology, but that aint the reason Big Green pursued that avenue. They did it back in the mid 90s to appease the Klintoon administration and to try and get on Billy Bobs and Janet "Gassem all" Reno's goodside (as well as the rockheads at the ATF). It was a poor example of a corporation "kissin butt" and it was doomed to fail, libbie/dems won't quit until THEY are the ONLY ones with guns in their homes.

I wouldn't buy one simply because Remington holds the key to supply of the ammo and if/when they pull the plug on it, you are done for!!!

Just my .01/2c,
