Default Taking off sights

On my Rem. 700 BDL, can I just unscrew the front/rear sights or are they lock-tited in? What do most of you do w/ them, remove the rear sight and keep the front when mounting a scope?

Default RE: Taking off sights

They are just unscrewed.....not loktited.

Why keep the front sight if the rear has been removed. It can't act as a backup and functions only as a tool to destroy gun cases
