Model 70 Featherweight vs. Sporter III

I'm looking to get a few opinions from people that either own one of these two models or have shot them. I'm in the process of purchasing a new rifle vicariously thru my dad and have narrowed myself down these two models. from what i can tell there really isnt much difference between the two except for some checkering and slight stock variations. I know that this isnt the best way to buy a rifle but when im 6000+ miles away in the desert its all i can really do. Any input would be most appreciated...Thanks

Both good rifles, but for me I like the Featherweight best. They have a new one out this year in stainless steel with walnut stock - very nice! (I'd be itchin' for one myself if I didn't already own my Remington 700LSS Mountain rifle - stainless with laminated stock.)
