Some of you might have recently heard of a new organization claiming to represent hunters and gun owners. As is often the case this organization builds a nice website and claims to be a friend of hunters when the reality is they are nothing more than the enemy in camouflage.

The new group calls itself the http://www.huntersandshooters.com/, a friendly sounding name designed to part unsuspecting hunters and shooters from their hard earned dollars. They claim to be a "rational" voice in the hunting and gun rights policy debate, implying that groups like NRA are irrational.

Everything about AHSA sounds warm and fuzzy, that is unless you take the time to look deeper into their website. Quickly you realize that they want to regulate certain calibers of guns, allow the FBI to keep records on people who buy guns and put an end to gunshows as we know them.

The most telling thing about AHSA is its leadership. A quick look at the website shows that Bob Ricker is listed as AHSA Executive Director. Hunters will remember that Ricker is a former NRA employee who switched sides and has actively worked for gun control groups for many years now. Most recently Ricker was paid by a Virginia based anti-gun group, where he lobbied to shut down gun shows and put further restrictions on gun owners.

John Rosenthal is listed as President of the AHSA Foundation. Rosenthal is one of the founders of the Massachusetts based group Stop Handgun Violence, a group that has been a major force in passing some of the most draconian state gun laws in the nation.

With leadership like that, there is no doubt about the true goals of AHSA. They are trying to fool hunters and gun owners with a soft sell, while working behind the scenes to end the sport that we all love. I fully expect that next year we will see anti-gun Congressional candidates boasting their AHSA endorsements.

Unfortunately, some gun owners will be fooled by this rhetoric, so help us spread the word that AHSA isn"t what they claim to be.

What do you think ??

If one thing can be said about ultra-leftist liberals and the organizations that represent them is that they all tend to be masters of subterfuge and obfuscation. Just look at how many people were duped into actually believing that John Kerry was a genuine sportsman and pro-gun candidate, or how many people donate money to H.S.U.S. out of the genuine belief that their one and only purpose is saving cute little puppies and kitties from a lethal injection. I have had many conversations where I've disillusioned pro-HSUS people and shown them the truth behind HSUS' radical animal rights agenda.

There are a lot of sheeple out there who will whip out their checkbook for whatever sob-story, heart-string pulling or we-fight-for-you sales pitch these "charities" spew at them because they are too stupid, gullible and/or lazy to find the truth behind the talking points, sound bites and "...reasonable, common-sense..." agendas. That fact will, unfortunately, never change. I truly intelligent person would view such a site with a critical eye and delve deeper to find the truth between the lines.

The information in the post all seems very accurate. Check this link for yourself, regarding the "leadership".

It never ceases to amaze me at the ease that some casual hunters and shooters, are taken in by the anti-gun/hunting groups! Such as, "no one needs a .50 cal,""no one needs an automatic weapon," (when in all reality, it is really a semi-auto,exactly like the tame looking semi that they hunt with!) And "no one needs armor-piercing ammo," ( they don't even take the effort to read the facts! Fact is most hunting bullets would bebannedas armor piercing!)
Most people here are well informed, so I'm preaching to the choir, but ALL hunters and shootersneed to wake up and smell the coffee! The anti gun crowd will never be satisfied until there is a total gun ban!

It's not just your guns they want to ban, that's just one step in the process.
Take prayer out of the schools, remove God & the Ten Commandments out of/from everything they can, actively promote abortion and "gay" rights, along with politically correct speach, etc., and any other form of immoral liberalism. Their real aimis the moral destruction of our nation, and to bring on totalitarianism. Like the communists, our liberals of today (ie; Kennedy, Schumer, Kerry, Pelosi, Leahy, etal), and the organizations such asthis and theACLU, etc., theyknow what's best for you!
