Nice buck Jay, and to answer your question YES the Encore IS that good of a gun. The ones you are seeing on TV are given too those on the show and TC has done a good job marketing the Encore for the last few years. They are great quality and I have seen many shoot with boltactions. For the "hunter on the cheap" they are a very quality alternative too multiple guns. A man can buy one receiver and make a 12ga shotgun out of it, a 50cal muzzleloader, almost an endless choice of centerfire big game calibers and with the new conversion kits you can even make rimfires out of them. Most barrels are $250-$300 and for less than the cost of 3 nice guns you can have one gun ready for anything!

Good luck,
RA

I picked up the T/C Encore in a 15" 7mm-08 when they first came on the market, execelent and accurate weapon! Now I own 2 frames, one for pistol calibers and the other for my rifle calibers. You won't be sorry if you get one...

I really can't add much to whats already been said, but that should be enough!!!! Single-shot hunters are like a different breed when it comes to gun hunting. IMHO, you'll end up being a better hunter with a single shot. Reasing being, once you get the mindset you have only one shot, you'll learn to make that one shot count. I got into Contenders/Encores(rilfes and pistols) a few years back and don't ever see myself hunting with anything else. The versatility of the Encore is unmatched and the accuracy is plenty good enough for a hunting weapon.
