Default .17 HMR barrel break-in

Got a new CZ .17 HMR and was wondering what the consensus was on the "shoot a few rounds/clean barrel" break-in approach. I've been told everything from "absolutely the way to go" to "not necessary for rimfires" to "will do more harm than good"! If this is the best route for accuracy refinement, how many shots between cleanings and repeated how many times? Thanks!
