Hello all,
I've decided to save up my money and get one really nice left handed bolt actionhunting rifle (one nice thing about being a southpaw, you're not bogged down with choices), versus several average performing rifles. I've narrowed my choices down to Sako, Browning, Remington, and Tikka. I don't haveany personal experience with Sako or Tikka, but have seen it discussed quite a bit here. My main objective is a rifle that is accurate (1 MOA or better), rugged, reliable, a tight action that doesn't rattle, perfect feeding, etc. I'm not concerned with cartridges in this forum, I just want to know how the various companies compare. Thanks in advance.

I'd take a sako 75 stock but make it smaller because they feel bulky to me, put in a browning a bolt action and barrel, chamber the SOB in any magnum and have at it.
Sako 75 hands down!!!! Browning makes a very good rifle, but if you have the cash, buy a Sako. I have a few of them (both old ones and new ones) and they never let me down.
If money is not a problem then I think this is a no brainer......
Just my $0.02

I have had all of the left handed rifle brands. For all out quality hunting rifle, None beat the Savage. You don't have to spend a small fortune to get a very accurate and reliable hunting rifle. To me thats a no brainer.
Hello all,
Thanks for the help so far. When I said "Money's not an option," I meant relatively speaking. I don't have the cash for a custom built rifle, I just am willing to shell out a little more fora better rifle. Better to buy it once right, then keep ontrying. Though, I'm not going to throw my money away if the gun isn't worth the added expense. For ex. if Savage is the best, then there'sno point spending $1500 on a Sako. Thanks

I have experience with 3 of the4 you mentioned in your first post. I have never owned a Tikka, so I can't talk about it, but I have owned all the others. In my gun cabinet todayyou will still find the Sakos, but no Remingtons or Brownings. So, does that give you an idea of which I prefer. Sako all the way as far as I'm concerned.
And BTW, you don't have to spend $1,500 to buy a Sako. Go to one or both of the following sites and do a little research. You may be able to find a new in the box (or practically brand new) 75 Hunter model for substantially less than $1000.
