I dont know how they perform long range but I shot and killed a Mt. Lion w/them(@ very close range). So I guesse that doesn't answer your question. My dad gave me some of those for coyotes.

they are all right they seem to work better in looser riflling 1 in 12 twist but dont do all to hot out of my 1 in 10 twist barrel.. with a 1 in 12 twist they groups around 2 inches at 100 yards and in the 1 in 10 twist they grouped about 5 inches at 100 yards.

They are suppost to group what ever your gun normally shoots. If your gun shoot a 1.5" group the accelorators should be close. I have not shot any but that is what I have read.

I have heard that the 30/06 accelerators don't generally shoot well enough for varmint hunting - 3" at 100 yards. The .308 Win. version usually shoots better. I tried them in a custom .308 sniper rifle a few years back and got MOA. Ialso understand thatthe Accelerators are hard tofind in the .308 caliber lately, though.

As for seriousvarmit shooting niether are good choices. Choose a rifle 25 cal. or smaller. If just for occasional fun enjoy.

What the heck is a 30-06 accelorator? Can it be used in a regular 30-06? What is the difference?

It's a 30-06 cartridge with a small 55 grain bullet seated in the neck by means of a plastic sabot. It will fire out of any 30-06 rifle. As you can imagine a bullet that small in front of a 30-06 hull filled with powder leaves the barrel at pretty high speed. I have a few boxes as a curiousity. Never tested them for groups at 100 yards but if you want to truely see the meaning of the word "Vaporize" then justuse one ona milk jug filled with water.
