Default Ruger 10/22

hey i just bought a used ruger 10/22 from a local sporting goods store for $130. it appears to be in great condition theres no scratches on it and the action dosnt appear to be that much worn.

what i wanted to know was if these guns last for a while and if you have ot service them that much other than cleaning it. thanks.

The 10/22 is a terrific rifle, IMHO, and you got it for a fair price. It's of very good quality and as long as you take care of it, it shouldlast you a lifetime. Congrats!

The Ruger 10-22 has got to be the most popular .22 rifle in the world. They don't require much maintenance. There is a growing body of evidence that suggests that cleaning the bore may do more harm than good. Just keep it oiled, clean the chamber with a brass brush, and occasionally tear down/clean the bolt and trigger mechanism. They will last like the Eveready Bunny.

Roskoe, better than the FN-BAR .22?
I had one in 1955.

I love my 10/22 also! There's a huge aftermarket for them too. Mine has had a few upgrades. Come to think of it, the only thing original is the receiver!

I"™ve had my 10/22 for a number of years and this is one rifle I nearly never clean. This rifle has never given me any problems and I still enjoy shooting it. Good luck with yours.
