Default Any 32 S&W Long fans out there?

There are some mid-bores out there that are fun to shoot, like the 32's and 38's, but I don't see much traffic on them. Now some of you... fess up now, have many different pieces for many different occasions. Anybody still using this old timer for anything? I honestly haven't handled one in years... got sucked into the G&A "need a bigger gun thing". But if I found an old 32 Colt in really good condition, I would snarf it up.

About the best I could do would be a Ruger SA. Looks like S&W is just putting out 2" barrels on the 32 H&R.

Self defense often comes up as an issue. So yes, I would acknowledge that I would grab my 44 over a 32 in that capacity. But also I would say... don't volunteer to stand downrange if front of the midbores.

I'm a big fan of the .32 S&W Long, and its yonger cousin, the .32 H&R. I've got one of the early Ruger singlke actions in .32 H&R, and it is one of my favorite fun guns.

Thanks for the note, Charley. Doubt that there are too many 32 users out there given what I see in the media and the market. I'm not an authority on Colt revolvers (I personally prefer their machining and double action) but I am not sure they chambered one for the S&W Long. These days Rugers seem to have the open invitation, and they have an attractive mid size single action in the mix. I like the bird's head grip. Looks like a good poker piece but then, poker games don't get that hostile anymore.

The .32/20 is no slouch in a handgun, either. I've got a Colt Army Special in .32/20, even with a less than perfect bore from old BP load use, it is a good shooter. I've got 5 different .32 revolvers, unbless you count the 7.62x38R Nagant, or the 8mm French, then I have 7!. Sure would like to find a Smith M&P in .32/20, lots of them made, just don't show up around here very often.

No you don't see the 32 S&W Long like you use to.I use to see tons of the little H&R's in 32 S&W long. Taurus way back had some in 32 along with Charter Arms.

Several years ago I got a minty Colt 2"Blued Detective Special in 32 New Police which is the identical cartridge asa 32 S&WL.. This DS is a earlier model without the shrouded ejector rod.It appears to be unfired. Unfortunately there was no box or manual.
Ruger made for Buckeye Sports a Blackhawk convertible. It was chambered for the 32 H&R mag and the 32-20.These are bringing a premium price.
