Default Cannon - American Eagle Gun Safe

Anyone have any experience with this gun safe? I've researched and it seems to be pretty good in comparison to what's on the market today but i wanted to see if anyone had any opinions. I know there have been some threads on gun safes in general but couldn't find anything regarding this one in particular.

I too have been looking at the same safe compared to all of the others out there I would have to say they are about the best safe for the money and I just recieved a flyer from Cabela's the safe is on sale for $ 599.99 until June 19,2005 if you have a Cabela's close I would recommend that you go there and pick it up shipping is pretty pricey I am going to get mine Saturday. I hope this helps chad

I have the AE31 ,I like it .They have a excellent warranty compared to other in there price range. They also have extra metal in door frame where locking bolts are that alot of others don't.I got mine from dunham sports for $599 onsale.

Here's there warranty info
Not all warranties are created equal!

Before buying a safe, ask the following questions:

1. Will you fix the safe in-home?
2. Who pays for a safe tech to open the safe?
3. Who pays for a safe tech to repair the safe?
4. If repair is not possible in-home, who pays the freight to the factory and back?

When you purchase a Cannon Safe the answer is easy. We do!

I have one with the combo lock. I also paid $599.00 at Dunham's. It's not the top of the line safe. It keeps the kids safe and you would have to want to get in there pretty bad to get anything. At an estimated 750 lbs plus loaded it's not going to be carried away. I'm pleased with the safe and the priced I paid.

Thanks everyone for the input.

chma, I too got that Cabelas ad. that's exactly what churned my interest in this particular model. I have enough points to get it and Cabelas is only an hour away so I think I'm going to pick mine up this weekend!!!!! THANKS!

I would get Rebel Hog's opinion. He was in the safe business and was in Law enforcement as a safe cracker.I value his opinions. He can get started on the right foot.I personally think the Cannon's are a good safe for the money.I have a Cannon 23 gun with electronic lock.Wal*mart had them marked down to 599.00.

PA Bow Hunter-
Sorry for the delay in replying to your PM. Please check my response. I concur with what the others have said. The AE (Cannon) safes are a good value, especially with their warranty with break-ins or attempted break-ins. You won't be sorry you got it.

Pa_Bow_Hunter, Cannon is a good working man's safe. There are
better made safe's, but are much more expensive. I could go in to
detail about them, but you just want to a safe to give you some
fire protection and security for a moderate price. Remember that
any safesmith can pass on info on your safe when you have them
service it. Make sure they are insured and bonded before you let
them work on it. It is a wise idea to have your safe alarmed or incorporated
into your house alarm.
The Cannon you bought will serve the purpose you want, but don't
think it's a fortress, it's a working man's safe to keep Lay pepole out
and give you alittle fire protection. Get it Alarmed !
