Default Bipod

I am looking for a bipod that mounts to a rifle's forestock but not using the swivel stud. My gun does not have a front swivel stud, and I don't want to drill a hole into the stock. Any suggestions?

Stoney Point shooting sticks are the only ones I know of that don't mount to a swivel, but they do not mount to the rifle. They are a portable shooting support that when taken out of the carrying case assemble themselves with a flick of the wrist. I like them for hunts where alot of walking is the norm. Very light and dependable at a reasonable price.

I bought my father in law a pair of shooting stix, they work great! The rule with them for myself is that if the animal is gonna be scared away by getting them out, you didnt need the to begin with or the animal has awesome senses! I have to use them for anyhting over 150 yards. EJ

there are some really cheap bipods that actually clamp onto the barrel in front of the foreend. i kinda doubt that they would be too good in the accuracy department though.

I have used quite a few different shooting sticks over the years, but my favorite is the Safari ones from Stoney Point. They can be used as a walking stick when hiking, and adjust from sitting to standing for height. Great accessory.

Just from personal experience, the clamp on bipods will do way more damage than drilling a hole for it. The Stoney Pt sticks are a great tool.

anywhere from 39.00 at wal-mart to 100.00 at cabelas. the ones at wal-mart are made by stoney - point or stoney ridge i think that was the name i saw on them. they look like a copy of the harris bipod. cabelas has harris and a few other name brands in all sizes to choose from.

I make mine out of 2 5/8 in. dowl rods 4 ft long. Drill a hole 10" from one end and put a #6 bolt thru. Also works good for a walking stick. Never need to grab for them and try to get them extended while an elk is looking at you.
