Franchi OU
Am in the market for an over/under shotgun I could use for both ducks and skeet. The Franchi Alcione seems to be a good value but I've not been able to find one in a store to handle. Hate to order one without seeing it first. Would like to hear from someone who has one.

RE: Franchi OU
I won an over/under Franchi in a ducks unlimited raffle when I lived in Connecticut in 1998. Workmanship and wood are very nice. It has both 20 gauge and 12 gauge barrel set. It handles and swings very nicely, kind of heavy for my liking to accomodate the 12 gauge barrels but a very nicely made shotgun and it loves to kill doves...
Mine has original Franchoke choke tubes which I have had trouble finding, I think they come with ?Benelli? tubes now which would be nice.

Franchi's have a fond following. I don't own one but I have handled and compared them in the store. They are fine guns. BUT, I would strongly recommend that you handle one before putting out the cash for one unless you are sure it fits you. The last one I picked up had so little cast that I thought it was a left handed gun. I would never be able to hit anything with such a straight stocked gun, so I kept looking. That's not something you want to find out when you get it from your local FFL.
