Default New E-tec???

I saw an infomercial on the new E-tec, it sounds like a very good moter, and makes me think it would be better than the 4 strokes.

I was wondering if anyone owns one and how they like it so far? Do you think they are better than the 4 strokes?

Thanks
Tom

Default RE: New E-tec???

From what i've heard, it ain't got nothin on the Mercury Verado. Larry Nixon runs the e-tec, i asked him about it. he said he really likes his. But from what i've been hearing from most is that it just isnt as good as the Verado.

IMO a verado doesnt belong on a bass boat. They are entirely too heavy. They also absolutely drink gas. Ever looked under the cover of a verado? TONS of parts to faul. Time will tell if they hold together, but the potential for a massive failure is there.
