Can't speak for the rod but IMO you can't go wrong with any of the Quantum series baitcasters or spinning reels.

The Fish Eagle II rods are very good rods, my experience with quantum is not as good. We have had a number of the energy reels and I would never buy another, they didn't hold up at all. I really like my Diawas better and the Prodigy is an awsome reel.

My dad got the 10' FE II and the Prodigy for steelhead and it is an awsome combo.

i have a diawa ss and love it, ive heard alot of decent reviews for the energy, hence the idea of buying one. thanks for insight. the energy is a little more exspensive then the Diawa was/is. Cabela's fe II rod never fished with but was thinking about 8'-6" for bigger river fishing. will this length be sufficant(sp)? i have a 7' that i use for trout and bass, just wondering on the extra length. thnks again for help.
