Default Okuma Epixor EF20, a little tight on reset

Just purchased an Okuma Epixor EF20 and I noticed that the bail reset was tight when you tried to wind after the cast. Has anyone else seen this and does it loosen up after use? Some other reels have this but it doesnt matter because of the type of anti-reverse that they use, the reel can reverse enough to get a run for the reset. This type of anti-reverse doesn't give an inch. Do I need to get used to manually resetting the bale, or will it work in?

Doesn't sound like it is operating right to me. The bail should spring back with little pressure from the winding. If it is new I would bring it back and try another or if you got it from Cabelas or Bass Pro send it back. I haven't ever used an Okuma so I am not familiar with the model.

I purchased it at Cabellas, and the guy tried a couple of them and every one was the same way. He also compared it to a $300 reel, and it was the same. His opinion was that it may loosen up, but some reals are just like that.

I guess if it were me I would return it. I have my best luck with Shimano spinning reels in that price range or a little higher. I bought a Mitchel last year thinking it was as good as the older models I grew up with. Big mistake. The gears don't operate smoothly and the handle has resistance on the turn. I have now banished it to the garage sale bin along with an older Cabela brand spinning reel that never worked right and since I bought it some time ago I won't return it but wouldn't buy another. Like I said I like Shimano for spinning and Quantum, Diawa or Shimano for bait casting.
