Default Anybody Yoyo?

I went out and yoyo'd last winter for crappie with some buddies. I had a great time. Hearing that...ZING! and knowing there's a fish on the end of the line is great.

Do any of yall yoyo for fish? I'd never really heard of it or paid much attention to it before then.

I'm thinkin about buying 20 yoyo's maybe, how much do they run for?

I use Yo-Yo's for catfish and they work good also. As far as buying them, I've seen them at Wal-Mart for something like $2.00 each or you can go through Bass Pro Shop and get them by the case.

Me and my step dad used to do this when I was a teenager.
I had forgot about them.
I think I have some in my out building.

It is a good productive way to catch fish.
But you have to keep up with it or the turtles will eat them off the hooks.

I think I will look for them.
Thanks for the reminder.

I think they are against the law here, along with dynamite and crank telephones.

A Yo-Yo is nothing more than a simple limb line attached to a tree limb (or side of a boat I suppose). Anyway, it has a string attached to a simple reel to attach to one of the above mentioned places. Within the reel, there is line that you can pull out according to the depth you are wanting to fish. The reel itself has notches in the side to hook the line onto once you find the depth the fish are at. It works like this - when a fish takes the bait and pulls on the line, the line that you placed in the reels' notch releases and automaticly sets the hook.
