I thought the 15.5 lber I caught was a brute.

Rob Wilson of Tallmadge Ohio caught a 31 lb 3 0z steelie in Lake Ontario on August 14. Previous reord was 26 lb 15 0z.

Wow 31 3 is a real toad. I used to fish the Salmon River in Polaski all winter and spring and the largest I ever landed was around 18. I had some 20-22 pounders on but couldn't get them in fishing with lite line. It used to be lots of fun back in the 80's before everything got commercial out there. I got a chance to go through town this deer season and I couldn't believe how much it has changed. I started to fish that in the late 70's and at that time there was only a couple of places to stay.
