Damm not yet. Even our small ponds are still open. This morning was our first snow that stuck to the ground(1/2"). Snow will be gone by tomorrow as they are calling for warmer temps. Water temps. are not far from freezing but we will need a cold snap.
I scurried across the river 2 weekends ago while whitetail hunting, I could hear the beaver dams flowing yet but i saw a deer cross in one area so thought the ice was strong enough for my carcass. Happy i made it across. lol As for the little lakes back home they are usually safe to walk out a ways however i have not been home to check things out. We have had unusually warm weather so things are probably a bit behind schedule. Today was fairly mild and what little snow we had melted. But by the time of my Christmas break on the 16th there should be plenty of ice to walk on, hopefully take the truck out closer to New years.

Things were starting to look good but this weekend is getting warm and there is more snow on the way. Doesn't mother nature realize by now that we need a few really cold weeks before it snows???
we got ice too finally, in fact i was able to wet a line sunday fished for a couple hours and ended up catching 3 decent walleye's. Only about 3 to 4 inches, but its enough to hold me...lol
here's a pic for you walleye guys, that got the itch to get out.
