Default river walleye

Im goin after them for the first time this year. Current river starts in the Ozarks rocky and clear then goes into arkansas flats and gets pretty sandy. Any color recommendations? Some of the older guys I've seen are using a minnow on a jighead. And what about water temp? Because it begins spring fed its stays cool but most of the folks I've spoken with recommend the coldest possible conditions. Thanks......

Default RE: river walleye

around here for fall and winter walleye a jig and minnow is about the best trying to keep your line verticle and your jig ticking bottom a good size minnow 3-4 inches for size of fish. char, pink and yellow work ok with chartruse being hottest day in and day out but if the water is really clear you may want to tone it down abit
