Default Lake Erie Walleye and Perch Fishing

I spoke to a comercial fisherman yesterday at his fish shop( he's the last one on our side of the lake) and he says that walleye are supposed to be in record numbers this year. And Perch fishing last year was the best recorded season ever and should continue into this year.

I HOPE HE'S RIGHT!!

Off walnut is where I caught my biggest walleye ever at age 13. 10 lbs 30 inches. They were rare back then, now not so rare to catch 8 to 9 pounders. 10 lbs is still pretty uncommon. Caught it right out from the red barn, not even sure if it's still there.

From what I understand, the mayfly hatch is starting and their has been a lot of wind. When boats could get out , the trollers were doing pretty good, casters were having to work a bit. Best seems to be west of west sister island for eyes. Go west from Marble head and look for the parking lot.
