Default Best way to catch walleye from shore!?

I will be going to camp this weekend in search of a gobbler , and some nice trout and EYE , i was wondering what is the best method to landing some nice EYE for the grill off shore? or perhaps off of a canoe in close to shore?

Thanks DL

If your fishing from shore i would try running crankbaits. In my opinion longer more slender baits seem to work better for walleye. Also just casting a plain lead head jig with a power bait or just a plastic twister will also do the job. If you really want to get fancy rigging up a slip bobber with a live bait presentation is an option. Hope this may help ya out a bit..........good luck

thanks alot hiawatha... ill try the cranker , do you have any favorites or ones that work better then others? ive had some moderate luck on rapala floating jerks , but i dont spin much else when i use lures for EYE , i caught a couple EYE on the twisters at a lake down here , and i never tried them up north , so ill give em a shot ... Thanks again

You could also try a lindy rig with a floating jig head and a minnow or leech right off the bottom that works pretty well.

I agree! But night time is usually better for casting from shore for Walleyes
