Default Macs river runner ( skegg and prop protection)

Hi
I'm new to this forum I'm usually on the bowhuntersforum.
Heres what I need a little help with and maybe a shoulder to cry on.
My wife and i bought a brand new Monark boat with a 115 mercury optimax. This is'nt my first boat but its my first brand new and really nice boat.
After having it out for only the fifth time I hit some rocks in the middle of nowhere and busted up my prop and dinged up my skegg. Im sickened with it.
I then remembered something I saw in the cabelas catalog. Macs river runner Its basically a gaurd for you skegg and prop. I was wondering If anyone has used this product or one simular and could tell me the pros and cons or any info would be appreciated.
Thanks
