WOW!!!! Up here in Iowa, if we catch a 5 pounder we think about putting it on the wall. But I guess you dont have any of the Walleye and Northern like we do so it evens out. I would like to go some place south sometime and catch big bass like that. Congrats!!

nice bass... have you ever fished rodman reservoir? i have pulled some nie ones out of there, and two weekends ago, i saw a guy pull one out that had to be 10 pounds!!! from what i hear, that is the place to go for largemouth in northern central florida... just a thought! also they are great for crappie... my buddy and i caught 30 crappie out of there using red minnows a few weeks ago...

Man I can't wait to get down there and fish this year. It will be my first time fishing in Florida. The largest bass I caught here was 8 pounds, and before that was probably about 4 pounds. Not to many large bass around here. I'd say the average is about 2 pounds here. Funny thing is, after I had caught the 8 pound bass here, my cousin caught the same fish about 3 weeks later. Hopefully he's still in there and gained a little weight since.
