Those fishing the northern states may use live bait..

Reasons...

A. They have fewer days to fish...

B. Their bass tend to be smaller on the average.

C. This includes Smallmouth as well.

This rule will be retroactive from Jan.10th,2012

You mean now if I want to I can catch a few threw the ice if they decide to bite? I was ok with catching them in open water on a rod and reel using artificial my friends.. But if I catch one or two threw the ice I can score it? Prolly will not happen though as I will be after white fish, landlock salmon, lake trout, and of course white perch some more.. There is some bass in these cold water lakes though so anything can happen..
